Porcelain Veneers

Enhance your smile with thin ceramic porcelain that can correct misshapen, rotated or fractured teeth and improve tooth proportions or tooth color.
What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic shells that are bonded to your tooth to cosmetically enhance your smile or correct defects in tooth shape, shade, size, or position.

As the only office in Fairfield County with an accreditation from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Cosmetic & Preventive Dentistry team is uniquely qualified to provide the best possible result. Our doctors will carefully plan treatment based upon each patient's unique needs and treatment goals.

How Can It Help?

Porcelain veneers can treat:

  • Fractured or worn teeth
  • Rotated or misshapen teeth
  • Tooth proportions (widen, lengthen)
  • Tooth color
  • Tooth spacing or diastemas

What to Expect

Typically, veneer treatment will involve consultation and two appointments for placement, with the following steps:

1. Consultation

We discuss treatment goals and collect records including photographs, dental x-rays, and a digital 3D model of your teeth.

2. Wax up

Using your records, we create a diagnostic wax up of the proposed treatment. This helps both our team and the patient communicate the final anticipated result. We can also used a computer simulation to demonstrate how you will look with your new smile.

3. Preparation and Impression

From the wax up plan, your teeth are prepared to receive veneers and temporary prototype veneers are provided as a "trial smile." The trial smile allows you and the doctor to visualize how this new tooth shape/shade appears in the frame of your lips and face. We can make changes to the trial smile until both the doctor and patient are satisfied with the result. We then take impression and records to use this as a blueprint for the fabrication of your final veneers.

4. Lab fabrication

Ceramic porcelain shells are fabricated by a high quality professional lab using our doctor's detailed direction and models.

5. Fitting and placement

The final veneers are evaluated for fit, shape, and shade. Once approved, the veneers are bonded onto the front of your teeth to create a beautiful and long-lasting smile. Minor adjustments can be performed as needed.
